Sport Event Denmark is a national special organization, established in 1994, by the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF) as well as Team Denmark, with a view to making Denmark one of the most prominent hosts of sports events in the world.

Sport Event Denmark gave Icon a brief to create an exhibition stand design that would fulfil their requirements and objectives during 2008-09, which would consist of exhibiting at potentially 4 different events in 4 different countries, including SportAccord 2008 (Athens), ISEMS 2008 (London), Legacy Lives 2009 (Vancouver) and SportAccord 2009 (Denver). The brief was to design a stand where the components could be resued at each event, independent of change in stand size, thus keeping costs to a minimum.

Icon determined that a modular system would work best with fabric panels, forming the main stand. The stand dimensions were worked out so that Icon's North American partner could provide the metal work for the events in 2009, therefore reducing ongoing shipping costs, with only the fabrics to send out for each event. AV equipment would be hired on an event by event basis from each event organiser, again to reduce shipping costs, but also to prevent the requirements for detailed insurances.

The visual design of the stand was required to present the recently re-branded Sport Event Denmark logo, the major events that were to be held in Denmark during 2008 and 2009, and to represent the cities of Denmark working with Sport Event Denmark to attract sports events to their regions.

The outcome was a visually striking stand that presented the new brand to delegates clearly and cleanly. The location of the stand was at the entrance to the exhibition, and this along with the stand design, meant that passers-by could not fail to notice the presence of Sport Event Denmark, and that the new brand was picked up in many photographs of the event that are now in circulation.

Icon delivered the complete solution, designing, building, installing and dismantling the stand, so that the representatives of Sport Event Denmark could focus on the meetings and networking the event offered.
