Sport Industry Awards 2008

The Sport Industry Awards 2008 took place at Battersea Evolution on 1^st May gathering together leading sports men and women from past, present and future with representatives of organisations delivering market leading work across all areas of the sports industry.

More sports, brands, agencies and federations were represented on the Awards shortlist this year than ever before, and Icon was extremely pleased to sponsor the category “Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event or Competition” on the evening, presented by Terry Venables, and would like to congratulate E.ON on winning the award.

As part of the sponsorship Icon worked with the organisers to dress the venue, producing and installing a number of branding items to contribute towards building the atmosphere and excitement the event itself is all about, as well as strengthening the Sport Industry Awards brand.

Outside the venue Icon erected temporary flags to line the driveway to the venue and covered crowd barriers with barrier jackets as a way of directing traffic and providing a backdrop for the media when photographing the celebrities as they entered the building.

Each entrance was surrounded with a graphic arch depicting sporting moments and directing people accordingly, using contravision so that those inside could still see out.

Inside the venue Icon erected a Tower to display the awards categories and those shortlisted to win each, providing a massive centre piece for people to congregate around during the cocktail reception.

fabric_frame® (distributed exclusively in UK by Icon) was used to fantastic effect to display large scale images of sporting moments of 2007, creating backdrops to motor cars that were on display, whilst performing a simple function of dressing previously blank dividing walls.

The Sport Industry Awards provided for a fantastic evening of entertainment and networking and Icon would like to thanks and congratulate the organisers and everyone involved for making an evening to remember.
