fabric_frame® display system chosen by Harrods for luxury brand window displays

Luxury watch brands first to benefit from new lightboxes

Icon Display, the UK's exclusive distributor for the innovative fabric_frame® display system, announced today that it has successfully supplied and installed a number of fabric_frame® based light boxes at the world's most famous store, Harrods in London. The fabric_frame® panels were first chosen to support the launch of the new TAG Heuer Grand Carrera series in the main Brompton Road windows, and the panels have also been used by Zenith, featuring the Class Traveller collection of watches and by De Beers for their Christmas diamonds windows, both at Harrods.

Sarah Southgate, Head of Window Design at Harrods, said; “There were a number of features that attracted us to fabric_frame®; the clarity of image is superb and this is vital when promoting the highest quality jewellery products. This combined with its flexibility and ease of installation made the system an ideal investment for our organisation. Harrods is well known for its innovative and creative approach to window design and these light boxes gave these windows really high impact.”

This view is endorsed by the Visual Project Managers at LVMH Watch & Jewellery, who agreed “The combination of the ease of use with the highest quality of graphic reproduction makes the fabric_frame® light boxes a perfect partner for our luxury brands. The virtual lack of a frame ensures that nothing detracts from the impact of the images on the panels.”

The initial installation incorporated three double-sided light boxes, each measuring 1.5m (w) x 2.1m (h) x 0.19m (d). Both sides of the light box carried close- up images of the new TAG Heuer Grand Carrera watches, reproduced by Icon using a high resolution, dye-sublimation technique. This allows for a far higher quality and non-reflective finish, making it ideally suited to such an application.

fabric_frame® is a versatile display system which can be used as an exhibition, hospitality or conference backdrop, and a range of other applications for all kinds of corporate or retail events. The non reflective finish also makes the system ideal for press conference backdrops and other media and TV applications. Once printed the fabric is displayed in easy-to-assemble aluminium frames which can measure up to 12m x 3m, enabling the construction of a large format, seamless panel. Additional options include a lightweight “flag” and transparent fabrics.
