PRESS RELEASE November 16, 2009

Icon expands range with new acquisition
In a move designed to strengthen its event and brand services portfolio Icon announced today that it has acquired leading event production company, MEI.
Both companies have well established reputations in their respective fields - Icon in branding and signage and MEI in event production - and this new development will give clients access to some of the best creative and technological expertise available in these highly competitive markets.
Commenting on the acquisition, John Francis, managing director of Icon, said; “We are delighted to welcome the MEI team to Icon. There is an obvious synergy between our two businesses and there is no doubt that this new arrangement will bring real benefit to both existing and new customers in terms of the depth of experience and breadth of knowledge we are now able to offer.”
“Becoming part of Icon's international organisation is an exciting move for all of us at MEI. With both companies already involved in a number of high profile sports and launch events in the coming year and with extensive international opportunities in the pipeline I believe that this is an opportunity for event production to reach new levels, “commented Richard Dale, head of MEI.
The acquisition comes exactly a year after Icon's MBO and sees the company fulfilling its promise to look for new opportunities in products and services that will strengthen its offerings to both existing and prospective clients. MEI has already moved its operations and all staff to Icon's headquarters in Sidcup, Kent, and work is already underway on the redevelopment of a building on this site. This will provide additional design and production facilities to complement those already utilised by Icon for the signage side of its business.
Between them the two companies have worked for some of the biggest brands in the global market place, including Adidas, Chelsea Football Club, Coca Cola, Samsung, Sony and UEFA. Both companies will be looking at ways of strengthening these relationships and utilising their joint skills to produce events and venues that have real `wow' factor and produce results that not only meet but exceed their clients' expectations. More information about both the companies can be found at www.icondisplay.co.uk and www.iconmei.com.
