Icon has worked in partnership with Croydon Council since 2005, and has more recently delivered the signage solution for the new Adult Learning and Training Centres that have been established across the Borough, which provide environments conducive to delivering high quality adult education and learning opportunities for community members.

As part of the Council's commitment to `keep up with the times' and deliver better learning facilities, it went through a process of re-branding to convey a new message and drive, changing the name of the `Continuing Education & Training Service' to `Croydon Adult Learning and Training'. Part of the re-branding process was the production and installation of new signage promoting the new brand, communicating the new focus and purpose of the organisation.

In March 2007 the council contracted Icon to deliver the re-brand of one of their sites as part of a pilot scheme. The success of the pilot scheme led to the council issuing a tender for the production and installation of permanent re-brand signage at 4 further locations, which after a competitive process, was awarded to Icon.

Icon were tasked with delivering a signage communication programme that could be understood clearly by various communities in the borough, and delivered a solution using both text and images that clearly satisfied the Council's objectives and continues to provide clear instructions to users of the community facilities.

The flexibility Icon provides as well as speed of response, professionalism, concern for health and safety and general awareness has provided Croydon Council with a true partner to help communicate a new initiative for the benefit of local communities across the borough.
