Leading event branding specialist Icon Display recently completed work on all the on-course, sponsor and directional signage at golf's prestigious BMW Championship at Wentworth Club. This was BMW's first year sponsoring what is the flagship event on the PGA European Tour.
Icon, who secured the contract earlier this year in a competitive pitch, were responsible for producing and installing all the on-course advertising, directional signage, public information displays, scoreboard dressing, tented village fascia and caddie bibs as well as all the public directional signage. Icon also installed, managed, and operated the highly impactful rotating advertising system on the 17th tee.
Commenting on the programme, Andrew Hodson, Sales & Marketing Director at Icon Display said, “There is always extra pressure involved when creating and establishing the branding on behalf of a new sponsor of an existing event. All the signage had to be produced to the very highest specification to match the status of the event and the style, prestige and corporate identity demands of the sponsor. We were naturally very pleased with the overall success of the Championship and delighted that the look and style of the event received such high praise from not only the European Tour and BMW, but from host broadcasters the BBC who commented particularly on the quality of the branding on the Course itself.”
