Candy and Candy is a Prestige Development Management company delivering exclusive architectural and internal property designs and developments. Their portfolio includes many exclusive projects worldwide in fashionable locations using award-winning creativity.
Following on from previous successful collaborations, Icon was given a brief to come up with a solution for advertising their flagship site - One Hyde Park, London, using the adjoining Mandarin Hotel side elevation.
The obvious initial challenge was that the side elevation wall was actually a large archway with limited access through a bedroom window - frequent discussion with the hotel was required in order to ensure they were not disrupted in any way.
The solution was to fit stainless steel cabling to the wall with large eyebolts that were chemically fixed into the brickwork, with the cables stretched between. The actual process of creating the fixings required Icon to abseil into position, before the pvc mesh banner was installed.
Icon's client was Candy and Candy, but a relationship was also built with the Mandarin Hotel and those working on the construction site next door to ensure effective delivery. Bad weather made working at height difficult, but the end solution has presented a fantastic means of marketing this prestigious development.
“This is the latest project where we have been commissioned by Candy and Candy, and to date by far the hardest as a result of the unique installation requirements. We were really pleased with the result and look forward to continuing to assist Candy and Candy on future projects.” Simon Boulding, Account Manager & Project Leader
