Icon were extremely proud to be involved in golf's most prestigious team event, The Ryder Cup 2006. Initially responsible for the production, installation and operation of rotating advertising units on three of the prominent tees (1st, 14th, and 16th) at the K Club, Dublin and providing branded barrier jackets and specially commissioned programme kiosks for the event.
However, at very short notice Icon were asked to oversee the design, production and installation of all the directional signage - over 600 signs. These were both the internal and external, forming the roadway directional signs and the internal pedestrian signage.
The rotational units provided the marketing department with flexibility to change the sponsor on each tee after the television output was analysed to ensure that balanced coverage was provided.
Icon have a great knowledge of this venue, having completed all the signage and branding for the Smurfit European Open for the last few years.
Due to the scale and short notice of this project Icon needed to be in close contact with the staging team, design team and press and marketing departments at all times to ensure that the best possible results were achieved.
